Description
Designed by Eero Aarnio during the 1960s, the Ball or Globe Chair is one of the most recognized design icons of the 20th century, and is now produced by the Germany-based Adelta. The seat is very cosy, and placing yourself in it will quickly isolate you from the surrounding environment.
This is an authentic, recent version produced under licence by the german Adelta, and upholstered in a mid-grey Kvadrat Wool. The seat is in very good condition: the fabric has been recently professionally cleaned.

About Eero Aarnio
The Finnish designer Eero Aarnio was trained in industrial design and closely worked together with another Finnish designer, Ilmari Tapiovaara during the early years of his career.
Tapiovaara and Aarnio had both a partnership with Asko, a furniture maker. After Tapiovaara and Aarnio parted, Eero Aarnio continued his relationship with Asko. It was after the departure from Tapiovaara that an interest was born in a new material, plastics, which would be formed, molded to his design concepts. In the first half of the 1960s that maybe the most recognized piece of Finnish design was created: The Ball Chair or the Globe Chair. Other famous designs include the Bubble Chair or Gyro Chair.
Eero Aarnio’s work has been featured in films, museums, has received awards multiple times and is recognized by a large audience.
