The Up 5 Chair and Up 7 Ottoman were both designed by Gaetano Pesce in 1969, representing a female inmate complete with a ball and a chain. Gaetano Pesce explained his design as “women being unwillingly their own prisoner”.

The chair is also known as the Big Mama or Blowup chair, since it was originally sold as a flat pack item, which would slowly inflate once the vacuum would be released from it plastic packaging.

Our version is a recent re-edition by B&B Italia. This very bulky set of furniture would provide a wonderful (comfortable) statement piece in any interior.

Condition: Overall good. There is some pilling on the fabric, notably on the back-left of the seat, refer to pictures. For the rest, no repairs or issues.
