The D80 lounge chair (also called the Machine Chair) was originally designed during the 1920s by Jean Prouvé for his own use:
The chair is built up in metal, with a leather seat stretched over a frame that can be changed position due to the spring mechanism on the underside.
The lounge chair was brought into production during the 1980s by the Tecta (Germany) with a limited production run of 1000 pieces.
