About Louis Kalff

Louis Kalff was a dutch-born architect and designer. After his studies he joined Philips where he spent his career designing not only lamps but was made also responsible for advertising, branding, building design and several other of the company’s products. His lamps are icons of the industrial, modern style of the 1950s and 1960s.

Louis Kalff’s contribution to modern and industrial design made him one of the Netherlands’ most celebrated designers and to date his lighting object are highly sought after collector’s items.
