Description

Set of two Aura Floor Lamps by Mark Brazier-Jones, designed during the first half of the 1990s.

Mark Brazier-Jones (UK) is known for his particular surrealistic style often referred to as neo classical or even space-age baroque. According to the artist himself, “Form does follow function” but he does consider part of the furniture’s function as decorative, expressed by a certain flamboyance found in most of his designs.

Of our Aura floor lamps only 10 in total were produced. They are completely made in (gilded) metal, and have a coloured sheet wrapped fluorescent bulb as a light source.

Mark Brazier-Jones’ work is featured in several museums, and have seen steadily rising prices in the last few years.
