Description
This table version of the Panthella has been designed by Verner Panton and produced by Louis Poulsen during the 1960s. Acrylic white shade on a white metal base.
Verner Panton was mostly recognized for his newfound use of plastics and other new materials in the 1960s. Before starting his own company he actually was employed by Arne Jacobsen. Panton’s signature style is characterized by the use of vibrant colors, organic shapes, ideally placed in a “total concept” where walls, furniture and lighting were all in a same, uniform pop-art style. Other examples of his work are the Panton Chair (still produced by Vitra) and the Cone Chair.
