Description
“The S31 stool plays on the assembly of three converging legs and manages to achieve a solid, stable base that takes the full weight of a person on a small seat surface. The Technical challenge adds to the stool’s appeal” (from Pierre Chapo, Magen H Gallery).
As with all furniture by Chapo, this piece shows excellent craftsmanship, is constructed in solid wood and was made to last.
French elmwood is due to the Dutch elm disease extremely rare to find these days, and recent editions are generally made of oak or imported elmwood which have a completely different appearance compared to the warm, vintage look of an aged Chapo piece.
Condition: Overall very good vintage condition, ready for daily use. Stool was cleaned and oiled with cooked linseed oil as per Chapo’s original instructions.
