Vintage S28 chairs in elm: According to Pierre Chapo, the S28 is a modern interpretation of the traditional Alsatian chair, removed of any decorative elements, while maintaining its comfort and silhouette.
As with all furniture by Chapo, this piece shows excellent craftsmanship, is constructed in solid wood and was made to last.
French elmwood is due to the Dutch elm disease extremely rare to find these days, and recent editions are generally made of oak or imported elmwood which have a completely different appearance compared to the warm, vintage look of an aged Chapo piece.
Condition: Overall very good vintage condition, ready for daily use. Chairs have been cleaned and oiled with cooked linseed oil as per Chapo’s original instructions.
