Description
A table that converts into a chair designed by Alessandro Mendini for Edition Divisione Nuova Alchimea (1984). The wooden top and seat consists of lacquered wood, with leather covered armrests.
Mendini (1931 – 2019), was a well respected Italian designer and architect who was particularly interested in the radical and post-modern design movement from the 1980s. His works cover furniture, objects, architecture and even clothing. The works of Alessandro Mendini form part of the permanent collection of several museums (e.g. the Centre Pompidou, Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of New York.)
Origination: Italy, 1980s. Comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by the auction house.
Condition: Some signs of wear noticeable on the table top as pictured. Overall good condition and structurally stable.
