The Tongue chair was designed during 1967, when Pierre Paulin was inspired by the swimsuits women wore on the Côte d-Azur. The resulting lounge chair is in essence a base of foam which is covered in a tightly fitting sleeve, worn seamlessly around the chair’s curved tongue shape.
