Eames side chairs on a white metal la Fonda base. Designed by Charles & Ray Eames, and produced by Herman Miller for re-sale by Vitra.

The la Fonda base was originally designed by the Eames’ couple for the “La Fonda Del Sol” restaurant in the Time Life Building (NY) during the 1960s.

These chairs have been restored: The seat pad have new foam and re-upholstered with a Kvadrat Hallingdal grey wool. The seat has been gel coated again, to original specification. New original glides have been installed.

 

 

Origination: United States, 1970s. Marked on shock mounts with Herman Miller logo. Either marked “V” or “I” in shell or Herman Miller label.

Condition: Excellent condition. Glides replaced, new seat pad, shell has been re-painted, base re-powder coated.
